Overview
OhioHealth is one of the largest and most sophisticated health systems in the country. With twelve major hospitals and over 200 related health delivery service sites, the system can proudly view their year’s of growth to build and preserve the health of their communities spanning 47 Ohio counties. As an industry leader and a formidable economic engine for the region, OhioHealth generates approximately $3.6 billion in net revenue benefiting local communities. A brief sketch of the major health services and clinical programs provided by OhioHealth would include: Cancer Care, Heart and Vascular, Neurosciences and Stroke, Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, Maternity and Women’s Health, Bariatrics, and Trauma Services.

The OhioHealth Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the system and is composed of senior gift officers focused on individual hospitals and/or specialty clinical programs, central development operations that serve the entire system and the division that provides operational services.

The Senior Director, Philanthropy is a new position designed to provide leadership and management oversight to major gift programs and service line philanthropy directors across the system. The successful candidate is an articulate, accomplished leader who successfully motivates major gift programming through knowledge, personal major gift experience, words and actions. Accountability is a key component of success. The successful candidate will take ownership of the business by following through to project completion and achieving goal attainment. Other key qualities include: being donor centric, flexible, proactive, forward thinking, poised, a team player and a team builder who enjoys reaching goals and inspiring others to do the same. The successful candidate is well versed in the nuances of a matrixed fundraising landscape and health system philanthropy. With a thirst for knowledge and a drive to continuously learn, s/he remains current with contemporary trends in healthcare philanthropy and displays a passion for implementing structures and methods commensurate with an industry healthcare fundraising leader.
