The Staff
Richard A. Murray, President & Business Manager. Mr. Murray manages the office staff and all the associates who work as a team on each search project. In addition he works with each client on contract matters, finalizing the position descriptions for publication, the work flow of the search process, and all invoicing. At the conclusion of the process, Dick is normally helpful with the negotiations on an offer with the selected candidate.
Richard has spent much of his professional life in higher education as a professor at University of California, Santa Cruz and at Fresno State University. Prior to the purchase of the firm, Dick worked as a consultant to non-profit organizations in the Detroit area, Washington, DC, and in San Diego where he provided clients assistance in the training of office staff with computer system programs and applications. Dick wrote several custom donor records database management systems, guided clients through the conversion process when new database systems emerged, and worked on team building concepts to make the fundraising process efficient and effective.
With Paschal Murray, Dick wrote the software that drives the business and developed all the business tools to make the corporation effective. This would include the development of search database tools, overseeing the implementation of remote access capabilities through the installation of Citrix MetaFrame technologies, and the first international search firm to have a systems approach to the BlackBerry handheld e-mail device.
Mr. Murray oversees all company advertising, promotions, and sponsorship activities. He writes the copy and creates the graphic images for final form publication and he maintains the company Web site.
Monica Padilla, Search Associate & Assistant to Colette Murray. Ms. Padilla has the primary responsibility of supporting Colette Murray with the processing of candidates who are identified for a position. Monica provides crucial support of the search process from start to finish. She has primary responsibility for the production of reports that are created for client review of candidates.
Monica provides coordination of information gathering on candidates and is responsible for verification of credentials. Monica is the voice for Colette Murray and coordinates communications with her when she is traveling.
Monica Padilla has a long history of work in the non-profit/fundraising sector having served as staff associate to the development process at the Whittier Institute for Diabetes.
Ann W. Livingston, Research Associate. Ann provides services as the primary person for conducting and writing reference interviews. Ann has a long history of writing and is excellent in working with references to obtain an in-depth understanding of candidates and their abilities/accomplishments. Ann has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Psychology and a Secondary Teaching Credential.
Diane Pfister, Research Associate & Manager, Fort Myers Office. With many years of experience working in the development office of the University of Louisville, Diane brings a wealth of knowledge to executive search functions of Paschal•Murray. Diane works from her office in Fort Myers, Florida and assists Colette directly with sourcing candidates and managing the flow of candidate information. Her relevant understanding of the fundraising process is crucial to her work in the initial screening of candidates. As part of an integral team, Diane provides clear insights into qualities of each candidate.
Thea Kano, DMA, Research Associate & Manager, Washington DC Office. Dr. Kano coordinates the international database effort from the Washington DC office. Thea manages all data entry personnel and maintains the company database of professionals who work in the non-profit sector in roles of management and fundraising. Her work entails tracking the moves of professionals and current addresses, titles and contact phone and e-mail addresses.
Thea recently completed her doctorate degree in choral conducting at UCLA and works evenings and weekends as the Artistic Director of the Capitol Hill Youth Chorus, Assistant Conductor of the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, and Assistant Conductor of the Washington Chorus. She received her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at Arizona State University. She also holds a California Secondary Teaching Credential.
Terry Felts, Research Associate. Mr. Felts works from the Washington DC office as a data entry specialist. Terry performs constant research on professionals who work in the non-profit sector and adds and updates the database records. Mr. Felts is a retired Naval Officer with a degree from the University of Tennessee and his wife, Janet, works with Secretary Donald Rumsfield in the Pentagon.
James Seastrom, Computer Systems Engineer. Jim is responsible for implementation of all computer systems and integration of related equipment and software. Jim is the owner of Jass Consulting and he is the primary reason that Paschal Murray remains technically advanced in the executive search industry. Jim maintains a series of servers that provide file and print services, e-mail services, and terminal services using Citrix MetaFrame XP. He also supports all remote communication devices such as BlackBerry handhelds and wireless laptops. Mr. Seastrom’s interest is in emerging technologies that provide key advances in production capabilities.
